    • Riselle thank you for the information on each membership package.

If I buy the bronze Karatbar package for $135 dollars I get:

Bonus Cards: One 3% Bonus Discount Card and one 100 Euro Bonus Card

Does that mean I get to give someone a 100 euro bonus card that they can use when they buy a KaratBar? And a 3% bonus card they can use for a purchase?

They just get to use that card toward any purchase as an incentive?

    • Hello Riselle -

Thanks for providing the pricing on the different levels, but there are a couple thousand words of content above but I don't see the answer to the question about the price of the Karatbars alone -  just a lot of explanation about being sure to compare apples to apples, pints to pints and so on, a pretty hefty chunk of marketing and explanation content someone has clearly put some thought into.

What is the price of the 1 gram, the 2.5 gram, and the 5 gram karatbars *today*?

I tried to log in to view pricing on their site as a buyer, but never received the confirmation email. I will try again, but in the meantime, could you please just provide those prices for me?

Just to make the point - when it takes 2700 words to *not* answer the question, it's raises a red flag.

      Thanks.

    • Prices For KARATBARS | Apples to Apples

      kb kinebar gold bullion

When you're thinking about the price of KARATBARS gold bullion and you somehow come to the conclusion that the prices are too high, you haven't compared apples to apples. It's like this: A Chevy Cavalier is a car just like a Corvette is a car. Bottom line is they're both cars. But the fact is one costs more, is worth more, and retains its value better. Gold coins, bars, and ingots are all gold, but with varying purity and weights.

Comparing Prices With KARATBARS Gold Bullion

The first thing in comparing prices of ANY commodity is understanding that you must do an apples-to-apples comparison. For example, if you are going to buy a pint of milk you must compare the price with other single pints of milk.

What you DON'T do is find the best price for a GALLON of milk (which, for the sake of discussion, lets say is $4) and then divide $4 by 8 pints (which is 50 cents per pint), and then compare that price to buying a single pint. We all understand what it means to buy in bulk. As with any product, there is what is commonly called volume discounts. The reason bulk prices are less per ounce is very simple: there is more labor cost to produce several units verses one unit, but the flexibility of use benefits are significant with 1-gram gold over larger weights.

To get an accurate price comparison (not taking into consideration the MANY benefits that come with owning a flexible transaction-friendly 1-gram Karatbar), you cannot take the spot price for an ounce of gold and divide it by 31.1. (There are roughly 31.1 grams per troy ounce of gold.) And you cannot take a gram price and multiply it by 31.1. You must price Karatbars gold bullion by the gram against other similar-quality gold that's sold by the gram to make an accurate comparison.
Is The Price of KARATBARS Gold Bullion In Line With What's Out There?

With gold and silver, you pay more for smaller weights regardless of your source. Just like you pay more for 1 can of soda or beer than you would pay for a case of 24 cans. The more you buy, the better price you get.

If you want to be accurate and compare apples to apples, ask your broker what his/her price is for a 999.9-grade 1-gram gold bullion produced by an LBMA-certified refinery? No one can touch Karatbars price! Karatbars has consistently maintained a 2-4% better price. Even if a broker could match or beat Karatbars prices, will they give you free gold for referring others?!? I think not. And all require you to buy many 1-gram bars even if you only want to buy one and although they may advertise they can deliver, they are often out of stock or cannot actually deliver gold in one gram weights.

The Karatbars program is NOT for traders. It is for savers and many ask "what does it cost"? This is a poverty mentality because a wealthy mentality asks "what is it worth"!

    • Pricing Facts

The troy ounce (oz t) is a unit of imperial measure. In the present day it is most commonly used to gauge the mass of precious metals. One troy ounce is currently defined as exactly 0.0311034768 kg or 31.1034768 g. One troy ounce is equivalent to approximately 1.09714 avoirdupois ounces.

The troy ounce is part of the troy weights system, many aspects of which were indirectly derived from the Roman monetary system. The Romans used bronze bars of varying weights as currency. An aes grave weighed equal to 1 pound. One twelfth of an aes grave was called an uncia, or in English an "ounce". Later standardization would change the ounce to 1/16 of a pound (the avoirdupois ounce), but the troy ounce, which is 1/12 of a troy pound (note that a troy pound is lighter than an avoirdupois pound), has been retained for the measure of precious metals. At 480 grains, the troy ounce is heavier than the avoirdupois ounce, which weighs 437 1/2 grains (exact by definition), about 10 percent more than the avoirdupois ounce, which is 28.349523125 g

When producing 31 grams from a single ounce bar, the labor will also increase by 31 times. The labor is intensified due to each unit must have a serial number and is assayed for weight, purity & fineness separately.

Gram weights are normally so expensive to produce that most refineries do not offer individual grams for sale, much less, allowing the purchase of one gram at a time.

The important factor is the premium/production costs, needed to produce the smaller units, will stay attached forever.

When selling to a reputable dealer, they will also recognize the production costs of the smaller units and also respect the premium.

Let's compare this on the opposite side of the Gold Industry.

Let's say you want to purchase a kilo or good delivery bar. (400 oz bar) You are likely to hear the term, below spot or spot minus 2%... This simply means it takes less labor to produce, assay, serialize, mint, store 1 kilo rather than 32 -1 ounce bars or 1000 = 1 gram bars.

The key to really know the value is to look at our competitors and read the small print on the additional, storage, delivery and minimums required to purchase.

I suggest using your preferred search engine and then do a search for the following key words to prove the value in the marketplace for a product comparable to a Karatbar.

LBMA kinebar (hologram) 1 gram 999.9 gold bullion 10/05/2013 pricing

      Gold de Royale Bullion

      Example: http://goldderoyale.com.au/shopping/products.php?cat=1&scat=26

      http://goldderoyale.com.au/shopping/products.php?cat=1&scat=30

      Suisse Gold

      Their cost : $84 usd
Karatbars cost: $65.28 (price can be seen at the bottom of the page for similar product)

      https://suissegold.com/search.php?mode=search&page=1&keep_https=yes

      Their cost: 54.21 € (73.49 usd)
      Karatbars cost: 48.15€ (S65.28 usd)

You will also find this very interesting, most Gold Re-sellers constantly show they are out of stock of hologrammed gold products which are produced by an LBMA accredited refinery.

What is a Karatbar & Why is it So Special ???

Our 999.9 pure gold is heat sealed into a card similar to size of a credit card. The card itself acts as the certificate which aids in proving authenticity. Within the body of the card/ certificate you will find, the assayers signature, the valued LBMA stamp (which means the gold that is produced by a refiner who is on the LBMA good delivery list may be used as settlement of debt in the bullion markets)

Last but not least, the unique hologram which adorns the reverse side of the gold gram will all be found within the confines of the Karatbar.

The hologram/kinebar feature was introduced by UBS bank in 1993 and made headlines around the world.

The addition of the embossed hologram on the underside of the gold acts as a security device which proves using a naked eye the product has not been tampered with.

In 1993, UBS bank created the first hologram, they refer to as a kinebar. In 2012, UBS trademarked the name kinebar referring to the hologram. Karatbars followed suit and trademarked the name Karatbars to distinguish our product from others.

With the introduction of this hologram technology, it was the first time in history where owners of physical gold felt comfortable removing the gold from the private vaults and from under the bailsmen watchful eye.

Previously, once removed from the vault, the gold lost value and the burden was on the owner to prove it was purity & authenticity. Many times prior, the gold would have had to been assayed and in many cases re-melted, to actually prove there was not any tampering with the gold and its purity.

You may find that very few brokers actually offer increments as low as a single gram for delivery. People have been paying a higher price for gold produced with a hologram since 1993 when the hologram was introduced to the physical market. It is simply worth quite a bit more when it removes the need or burden for gold owners to " prove it is ,what you say it is."

I am aware of only a few refineries world wide, who offer the single gram weights. This is due to the low profit margins and the increased labor intensity needed to produce the small 1 gram units.

While many brokers will use the gram weight to entice customers, we find when clients look at the small print they see they can not buy "just a single gram." They post the gram price as a sales ploy and in the fine print explain you need to purchase 1000 grams minimum which is the weight of a kilo bar.

The value of a Karatbar is one of the best in the industry based on the size and security features as well as being heat sealed within the certificate of authenticity.

    • Could someone list the pricing for the following:

Cost to join at each of the member levels, Bronze, Silver and VIP

      and

the cost of the 1 gram, 2.5 gram and 5 gram KaratBars.

I'd like to see how the pricing compares to the going price of a full ounce - realizing of course that buying a larger quantity would make an obvious difference in price. Just a matter of how much.

    • There was a warning issued in Canada regarding KaratBars as an investment program.

So far, no warnings have been posted in the US, but typically the SEC doesn't issue warnings - they take action. Since I want to be fair, I want to point out there is currently no indicator that any such thing will happen.

From what I've seen of KaratBars, there is actually a physical product being sold - the gold ounces embedded in a credit card style delivery medium - so the only snag I reasonably foresee them running into is if it is being offered here as an investment opportunity as well.

That's a whole separate animal from the standard business opportunities laws, which just get the local Attorney Generals interested. If a company starts tweaking their nose at the securities laws, well, then their executives can end up like Paul Burks at ZeekRewards. http://www.npros.com/press/2014/10/28/3307/zeekrewards-president-indicted-on-federal-charges.htm

      Warning - Karatbars investment program

      Thursday, March 20, 2014

Montréal – The Autorité des marchés financiers ("AMF") urges Québec investors to be cautious about an investment program linked to the German company Karatbars International GmbH whose investment products are primarily promoted through conferences, the Internet and social media.

With the company's "Affiliates" program, investors can make Internet-based purchases through Karatbars plans and they are encouraged to recruit two other Affiliates. These Affiliates are in turn encouraged to recruit two other Affiliates each, and so on. Affiliates are lured by the possibility of earning large payouts, in particular through a percentage of amounts collected from the Karatbars plans and gold products purchased by referrals.

The AMF reminds investors of the risks involved when investing in companies such as Karatbars that are not reporting issuers and do not hold AMF registration or authorization. Quebeckers should therefore be cautious with product offerings from Karatbars since they might incur losses that are not covered by the financial services compensation fund or deposit insurance.

The AMF is closely monitoring this matter and will take any measures deemed necessary in the event of violations under the laws it administers.

      Reminder to investors

As part of fraud prevention month, the AMF wishes to remind investors of the importance of being cautious before making an investment (document in French only) regardless of where the firms or individuals offering investments are based. Investors should make sure that firms and individuals acting as intermediaries are authorized to do so by consulting the register on the AMF website or calling the AMF Information Centre.

The AMF further reminds consumers that the gold market in which Karatbars operates is a complex market. The value of gold can be influenced by social, political or economic events, as well as numerous other factors. This market is not for every investor, and if someone tells you otherwise, beware.

If you believe you have been defrauded through an investment in Karatbars, we urge you to contact the AMF Information Centre.

The Autorité des marchés financiers ("AMF") is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial sector.
